The Apeiron Institute, Rhode Island College and partners from across Rhode Island are hard at work planning a great summit, bringing together all those dedicated to creating healthy, creative, efficient and environmentally sustainable schools -- schools that will lead the way to a thriving society, one in which children’s lives, health, and education are top priority and our sustainable relationship with the earth’s natural systems is paramount.

Propose a workshop or presentation
Submit your proposal for a workshop and/or presentation - these will addressing a wide variety of issues and approaches to creating sustainable schools. We aim to build bridges for our varied stakeholders and members of schools communities, cultivating strong partnerships for success. Our ares of focus include: using schools as a teaching tool, youth leadership and empowerment, integrating sustainability into school curricula and culture, and facilities, infrastructure and health. Deadline September 15.

Sponsor the Summit
Sponsorship opportunities for individual and group/business/organizational sponsorships will be available shortly. In the meantime, contact Amy Walsh for information about sponsoring the Summit.

Join the Youth Track
This year's Summit includes a youth track. We are looking for teachers, schools and programs to bring groups of students to partake in workshops and activities designed by and for young people. We're also looking for young people who want to be in on the planning stages of the youth track - this involves attending two meeting during after-school hours in October. Teachers - want to bring your group of students to the Summit? Are you a young person who wants to get involved? Contact Kim Kitchener, Youth Track Support Person, now!
