The Sustainable Business Group formed as part of the Apeiron Institute in 2009. The mission of the Sustainable Business Group (SBG) is to provide green business development services, job training, and research to grow the Green Economy in RI.

The SBG has the organizational capacity to achieve its mission due to a unique structure that brings together, under one umbrella, what are often three independent and uncoordinated efforts:

1. Business Development & The Sustainable Business Network of RI
2. Workforce Training
3. Business & Policy Research

With a distinct division of labor among these three focal areas and a collaborative culture, the SBG works to advance the Green Economy in RI through cooperation and multi-stakeholder representation.
