revolution. A video that will renew the Ocean State s commitment to a truth,
which isn t inconvenient, but instead promises a happy, healthy future
for everyone. Can you picture that? Can you inspire while being pragmatic?
Can you compel people to take action? Make us laugh, cry, hope, and dream,
and your work will get more than just a little credit.

Rhode Islanders, like most Americans, consume more than our share of
resources and as a result negatively impact our world s capacity
to support us economically, socially and environmentally. it s just
plain wrong. But our size, intellectual resources and our history
of independence makes our state the perfect proving ground for a

compelling and realistic interpretation of The rIght Way will become
our pennant as we move forward, being seen by thousands of RI ers every
week, from all walks of life. while there are great prizes for the top
picks, everyone s entries will be featured on the web, shown in movie
houses such as the Cable Car, the Jane Pickens Theater and AS220, and
your fame and glory will spread alongside the solutions to global warming.

Sustainable Rhode Island, a project of
the Apeiron Institute for environmental Living, is a statewide initiative
to transform Rhode island into the nationsfirst Sustainable State.
Driven by a host of speakers, programs, events, conferences, summits
and campaigns throughout the year, we hope to catalyze the public and
leadership to create tangible programs and initiatives that will
move us closer to the goal of a sustainable state.
By sustainable we mean not consuming resources or creating waste
at rates faster than the systems we rely upon for life can safely
replenish and renew.
