The Bike Train, Car Pooling & RIPTA on Saturday!

1. Attention Bicyclists! Looking for a 45 mile ride with a fun party in the middle, plus free admission and other goodies? You are invited to be a part of the first ever
Bike Train to the 2008 RI Sustainable Living Festival!

On June 7 and 8, a set of cyclists including a trip leader will ride to the Festival. All who register for the bike trains will receive free admission, goodies, and the chance to learn new ways to live gently on our earth. The first 50 cyclists to register will receive a free t-shirt designed exclusively for bike train cyclists!

The Bike Train will leave from the Providence Railroad Station and proceed along the Washington Secondary Greenway collecting additional riders all along the way through Coventry to the Festival. 

The train will pause at public parking lots on the route but riders can hop on board the train at any location along the bikepath. To participate in the train and get your free admission and T, contact Art Handy at art@apeiron.org or 401-228-7930.

Bike Train Riders will be recognized for the miles the group rode, how many people rode, and how many lbs of CO2 were not pumped into the atmosphere by your actions that day. A bike kiosk and other security options for bicycles will be available.

   
There will be camping available to those who want to camp over at the festival.

2. Reduce your carbon footprint and carpool! Remember if you are driving, festival parking is at the Western Coventry School on Route 117. Click here for directions.

3. Ride the RIPTA on Saturday. To check the RIPTA Bus 13 outbound schedule for Saturday, June 7th click here. AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO SUNDAY SERVICE!

You may bring a bike on all RIPTA buses and bike to and from the festival grounds.

Or, we will provide shuttle service to and from the Job Lot drop-off and festival grounds. To use this service you MUST:
~~Purchase your ticket in advance
~~Request shuttle service by e-mail or phone at 401-228-7930 by no later than 5:00 pm on June 6th. Please give your name and phone number, and be sure to specify the arrival and departure times for which you need shuttle service. Please make sure you receive phone or e-mail confirmation.

**PLEASE NOTE Shuttle will not be sent unless someone has specifically requested shuttle service and received confirmation in advance of travel.
